some of you may remember that couple of months ago my mum's piggy dennis passed on to rainbow bridge :(

we tried allsorts critical care food, guinea pig poo soup (YUM!)

but he didn't get any better, my mum then got a new baby from bramley cavies rescue to keep gnasher company.

but a few weeks later gnasher (mum's blind piggy) came down with the same thing :( we found a better cavy vet (holly house in leeds) and gnasher had an operation to remove a stone stuck in his urethra the size of a pea! unfortunately gnasher went into shock after the op, his digestive system shut down and he had to be put to sleep a couple of days later :(

Lovely piccies hon.

So sorry about your mums babies, what an awful time.

Maybe they just knew lots of other piggies needed a lovely home like they had so they moved 'over'

xx>>>

thanks chuck. it was really horrible :( my mum was devastated and blaming herself, but dennis and gnasher were nearly dead when we rescued them 3 years ago, and they were the most spoilt pigs in the world, mum adored them. so it wasn't her fault. it really made me think though. as awful as it sounds but now my piggys (bob especially) are quite old, if they got ill, i think i'd have them put to sleep straight away instead of trying to treat them and seeing them suffer unnecessarily :( but yeah, beano is the sweetest little boy, and i can't wait for mum to get his girlfriends ;) x

woo hoo bet Beano cant wait either
hahaha! i know, i just read a thread about someone not getting any sleep because of her piggys being *cough cough* amarous through the night :red i'm going to show my mum since she has this to look forward to ;)

Some lovely pics and good luck for Beano!

Bladder stones are sadly never good news. Were Gnasher and Dennis related, because there seems to be a strong genetic disposition for them?
