We’ve had our two girls for almost three weeks now, and I’m kind of confused.

Latte and Mocha get along sometimes, but sometimes it’s like Latte snaps at Mocha.
Mocha loves being around her, and when they go to sleep they go into a hide-y, but sometimes Latte scares Mocha out of there and Mocha just sits there crying.
Can anyone give me some insight? If there’s anything I can do or just anything I should know?

It sounds as if latte is the dominant and is making her dominance known and is claiming the best hide for herself. Ensure you have plenty of hides (three hides between two pigs is best)
Also, you say she sits there crying, that is a human emotion and likely not what she is doing.

Hi!

This is normal mild dominance behaviour.

Please take the time to read our sow guide. It has got a chapter on dominance behaviour: Sows: Behaviour and female health problems (including ovarian cysts)

Most people are not aware that establishing a group is not a matter of just a few hours of introduction but is a process that takes several weeks. With sows, there is the added complications that the first few seasons will often cause a renewal of the dominance behaviour.
Here is our guide on social interactive behaviours and dynamics. You will hopefully find it very interesting and helpful in reading and understanding what is happening.
The guide also covers the post-intro dominance phase: Bonding and Interaction: Illustrated social behaviours and bonding dynamics

Both guides are part of our much more extensive New Owners guide collection, which specifically addresses all the areas we get the most questions and concerns about. Unlike a book, our guide format allows us to constantly update our information in view of the many sweeping changes in our knowledge and understanding in so many areas in the last few years. It is worth bookmarking and using a very helpful resource: Getting Started - New Owners' Most Helpful Guides
