lay out of hutch

hi does this sound ok to you . upstairs they have newspaper vet bed fleece and igloo in bedroom downstairs the bottom is competely covered in hay with newspaper underneath but i am cleaning pen out every day now hot weather here because getting loads of ants and had 5 baby earwigs in yest under wet paper where weed . was thinking just putting hay on one side and other just paper on own or with bit of fleece on cause that is side bowl of food goes

Hiya HTH i have a hutch with run underneath and i put all their food on the bottom and in their hide bit of the hutch i just put woodshavings down and clean it out every 2-3days when i clean it out i put boiling water from the kettle in where they sleep clean it down and then spray the disinfectant wipe it after 15 mins leave it dry so its nice and clean dunno if it helps tho i used newspaper but was advised not too as it get soaked easily x

thanx going to gut it out now upstairs is ok no creepys up there just down stairs going to put ant powder round bottom of cage to tried stop them crawling up but be ok cause i have been putting them in run and moving around garden so i wont let them go near ant killer
