Lazy Pigs

there's lots of depressing posts on here right now. so i want to make a post to remind people that having guinea pigs is fun. and its an excuse to show off my piggys.

so first off this is Professor Turtle sitting in her toilet. this is an old pic, we have wooden and plastic houses now.

this one is Wicca The Destroyer she got that name after she pushed everything off my desk. cheeky little one.

this is Wicca 'wearing' one of her dresses. you'll notice its on backwards. cause its not actually on her, she is wearing it like a cape on her back. i have since brought her a cape, that she loves, i will try to remember to get a pic of that.she uses it like a portable cave

and lastly (cause i don't have that many pictures) here's turtle having lawn time during cage cleaning. the side is propped up so they can run further then their cage. and the plastic container has raspberry's in it. to tempt them out. they have become agoraphobic

Awww- so cute! I love the picture with the cape! We have a couple of pig costumes for Christmas and Halloween, but my pigs are always happy to lose them as soon as possible!

My boys seem to have agoraphobia too. They don't stray far from a hidey to munch grass. Hazelnut has even been known to not leave his cuddle cup. He'll just sit in it eating all the grass around it.But then he's got a fabric fetish. If it isn't fabric he doesn't want to put his toesis on it. Peanut Butter is more like your Wicca, if it's in his way he'll headbutt it rather than go round.

When will pet shops start doing clothes for guinea pigs then? It's a brilliant idea.

i know! so far i'm getting pretty much chihuahua clothes they are a bit big so they can run through like a tunnel. guinea pig clothes that they like and fit them, made from better materials would be awesome

Pet shops in our area do make clothes for guinea pigs- usually Halloween and Christmas costumes. We have a witch and a pumpkin suit for Halloween, plus an elf and a Santa suit for Christmas. I would be lying if I said that the pigs loved wearing them, but they will tolerate them long enough to get cute seasonal pictures! I think the brand that makes them here is All Living Things (not sure if they exist where the majority of you are living.) I have also managed to get my larger pigs into XXS dog sized costumes in the past- probably aimed at little dogs like chihuahuas.

well wicca doesnt seem to mind the cape to much when its done up. but they hate having things around thier front legs

i wonder why so many guinea pigs get agoraphobia? maybe beause they are pray animals and are perfect shape for a bird to grab?
