Hi
well pansy has bloat again, quite mild this time, she's still pooing, eating etc., but her tummy's swollen and sounds hollow and keeps gurgling, so i'm giving her some infacol. O0
Anyway, she has had this lots, and i write down what veggies i give them everyday and have noticed that it's definitely brassicas that set her off. Since her last bloat (Fri-Sat.) I have sticked off the brassicas, but gave her a little spring greens yesterday and it's back again, so i've decided i just can't give her them anymore O0 So thats no spring greens, cabbage, cauliflower leaves and florrets etc.
I was just wondering weather you can give me any other idea of greens that i can give her instead O0
thanks,
Izzy x

Herbs in moderation could be OK - parsley, basil, mint, coriander (all faves with mine). Pak Choi and spinach are also quite popular.

Good luck O0

thanks, yeah i feed them aswell, some days O0 i'll just give her the other options O0

what about runner beans? peas? broad beans? Sugar snaps? Not sure if these come under brassicas tho. Mine like trunip, swede, corgette as well as herbs x

do you give her any lettuce? I didnt realise mine could eat this but i got them a bag few weeks ago and they love it! just make sure it has no iceburg in it. makes a nice change to cabbage for them as i give mine cabbage regularly.. but my girls have now not eaten it since having the lettuce ::) fussy little things!

yeah i give 1 portion of romain lettuce once a week, wouldn't like to more than that really :)
She doesn't like sugar snaps ::) FUSSY! :P i can try some other beans and stuff i'm just thinking of the greenery more, because they're supposed to have 2 portions of leafy greens a day? ?

I wouldnt say 2 portions of leafy greens is necessary, I only feed mine once a day lol

Swiss Chard is a big hit with mine thats a leafy green, looks a bit like big spinach leaves, mine like the red chard its really easy to grow and mine grew most of the autumn and into winter too! you could try that? carrot tops and a big hit all those green leaves,

have you tried hard white cabbage/hard red cabbage mine used to like those

if you grow your own veg they also like the big outer leaves from brocolli plants, i have some they dont get them really often but they love them! you only get tiny ones on the supermarket brocolli as they are all cut off to look nice in the shop.have you tried the garden peas in pods, different to sugar snap peas and extremely easy to grow as they can be pricey in the supermarkets, my mum used to grow them on her windowsil for her so if you only have 1 guinea a few plants on your windowsil will do.. my peas didnt grow v well last year in my garden n the pigs got one pod of peas each ;D

yeah mine like swiss chard and carrot tops and the leaves from broccoli, trouble is there's not much of it growing at the moment, i guess before long mum'll be growing lots anyway, could just get her to grow loads of piggie stuff too! ;D ;D ;D
i'll just try and work some stuff out before then :-\

Mine are very fussy! they love cucumber more than anything, but it only has water content and not much else, so I feed mine the flat greens. I find they do not like beans either, sugar snaps are a big no, no they just get left, and courgettes they not even bothered if thats in the box! They also love lettuce, which I always try not to give, but you gotta make you critters eat something. What about flat leaf parsley? thats good for them and goes down better than any other herb I know of. Also maybe tomatoes once a week, they are packed with goodness!

oOoo i did some research and it seems that green pepper got tons of vitamin C?
i didn't give sugar/coffee eat any green pepper yet becos their owner doesnt like to eat green pepper! hahahaha so I'm waiting for mum to buy it so i can get a few from it =X wouldn't wann to get 1 big green pepper and not sure whether they will like it or not~

as for leafy greens.. i give butterhead lettuce... can't find nice pesticide free romaine lettuce here.. so doesn't want to risk~

sugar loves his butterhead lettuce alot... carrots maybe... the last to be eaten after lettuce. hahahaha :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Coffeee seems to be kinda "new" to fresh vege.. do didn't feed coffee with a lot of fresh vege yet... she's not eating fresh vege! lolol..
