Hello,
My almost seven year old Lakrits is slightly leaking? this smelly stuff that's not sticky but slightly brown, it smells like when Oreo sometimes decides to shoot pee while rumblestrutting so I'm guessing it has something to do with hormones. I immediately tried to do a checkup to see what was up and his foreskin was completely pulled back (not completely sure how to describe 🙈) so I believe it's from his penis. Does this need an immediate vet check or is a bumbath in order? I'm also slightly worried about impaction as he had that once before I learned that you shouldn't feed the amount of pellets that the pelletguide says, but I tried to check and couldn't see anything out of order except for the slimey smellt stuff. Any advice is appreciated, I've never had to clean my piggies genitalia before either so I really have no idea if this is a sign that a bum bath is in order.

It sounds like it would be a good idea for him to see a vet rather than bathing.

Impaction is when the anal muscles lose strength due to age and they are unable to push poops out properly.

I hope he is ok

Yes, a vet needs to examine your piggy. He may have an infection and need medication prescribed by a vet. The vet will advise you about whether bathing or cleaning are called for. I hope things turn out OK 🙏❤️

Update:
I did a new check and removed with a soaked (in water) cotton bud to see where it is coming from, and it seems it's from just behind from where his poo comes out, we'll keep an eye on it and book a vet appointment, but does anyone know what it could be? We're used to dogs so my mom's (I'm still living at home) immediate suspicion was that it's the anal glands, do piggies need help with emptying these, and do they even have them? 🙈

It could be coming from his grease gland. But without a picture we can only make guesses.
The grease gland is where the tail would be (if they had one).
The grease gland produces a thick waxy substance and is used in scent marking.

If your piggy needs his anal sac ( different to the grease gland) cleared then that is impaction (loss of muscle due to age and then prevents them being able to push poop out properly) and requires a vet check to ensure it is age related muscle loss and not another issue causing him to not be able to poop properly

A grease gland can become overactive but they can also get infected. If you suspect a problem or if this is a new issue with the grease gland then he needs to see a vet.
if you are still noticing a problem with his penis then he needs to see a vet.

You can clean a grease gland by putting coconut oil on it to break the grease down and then washing it off. You will not be able to clean it with just water.
However, please do note that you can make a problem with the grease gland worse; and by cleaning you can cause even more production of grease

There is a section on grease glands in this guide
There is also a section on impaction

I don't believe it is the grease gland and after looking at some videos from LAGPR I think he might be having impaction, so it seems Lakrits is due for his first vet visit ever! We've been really lucky with his health, up until now so hoping this'll be an easy fix, I'll also have the vet check his genitalia as his foreskin (I think that was what it's called) has just disappeared :hmm: but I didn't see anything else out of place when I cleaned it

Thanks for all the advice! :luv:
