What bottle do you have ?
Have you tried filling it right up to the top, helps it not leak, when you put it in hold your finger to the tip for a few seconds then let it go and mine normally stops :)

i use this one

i originally had a water bottle that came with my cage but it leaked so i took it back and got that one for free it's much better! :)

I'm not sure if my Girls are abusing theirs, as Biscuit's bottle doesn't leak..
One of the girls likes to grab a nugget of food, crush it, then grab a mouthful of water, before chewing it.. it's fun to watch..
Another female batters the life out of the ball bearing..
Their bottle is a Classic, I know they don't drink a bottle a day (there are 4 girls) but quite often I'm having to refill it twice a day, and the wood shavings around the bottle are saturated, not with wee, but fresh water..

I use the glass bottles (made by super pet I think) and have had no problems with them but you do have to fill them right to the top to avoid any leaks.

They're a good alternative to plastic as the glass won't scratch when your cleaning them, especially with a bottle brush, and they don't harbour as many germs either...but I do keep a couple of plastic ones on hand in case I end up accidently smashing one of the bottles, it's going to happen one day! rolleyes

I always fill them to the top, but it still fails.. I've tried glass ones, but they fail too, guess my piggies need to be less aggressive with them.. rolleyes

Naughty pigs! :)) you could perhaps place a brick under the bottle to save your bedding getting soaked through. I bought one from b&q for about 70p...must of looked crazy just buying the one!

I've gone as far as to putting a guinea pig toilet in that corner, but it still managed to drip down the side of it..
They make me laugh, as at dinner time, BonBon has to have a drink, and is so loud, we can't hear the tv!

Hiya,

There was a thread the other day about this:

http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=80371&highlight=leak

My bottles leak too (glass ones) but one post on this thread suggests not tightening them too much and also recommend some other bottles.

Hope this helps - nice to see you back BonBon2010 - I've missed seeing your cute piggy profile pigture recently which is a favourite of mine :))

x

Thanks Candyfloss :) I've been snowed under with stuff, but you'll be seeing more of me and my tribe (got some new piccies somewhere :)) ) :(|)
