Leave it to me....new piggy

I know I shouldn't, but every now and then I look through the local ads in my area for guinea pigs....well guess who now has a new piggy...me
I himmed and hawed after seeing an ad of a male and female guinea pig being kept in a Rubbermaid container. I felt so bad for them and knew it would lead to unwanted pregnancies and homeless babies. I wish I could have got the male as well, but I only have so much room and then I would be looking at getting a make cage mate for him as I have 2 sows...now 3.
I kept the owners info and currently trying to find him a home.
Anyways I have to say she is quite cute with the biggest and softest eyes. She is a year old, very shy, and I'm keeping her apart from my girls for awhile and I want to take her to the vet to make sure she's not preggo. I've gone over the situation that if she is I am able to financially do what I have to and put as much time and tlc into finding them forever homes.
I'll have to post some pics. I so wanted to cuddle her today, but I'm letting her be in a quite room to settle in.

Hey! I am from Spruce Grove. Was that on Kijiji? I am so bad for looking at Kijiji and the SPCA website. I already have 8 guinea pigs(guess how I got to that number lol) so when I see piggies on there that are in awful situations I wish I could help but I am at my limit now. Good luck with your new one You should post some pictures of her.

Yes it was on kijiji. Had pics of there store cages and accessories they came with(not that I wanted it), but when I showed up none of it was there and the piggies were in a blue deep dark rubbermaid. I did talk to the gentlemen about dropping the male off at the humane society. I know not nice, but IMO I think he would have been better there and someone looking to give a gp a good home will go there.
She was clean and seems to have a good body condition though. I think it's just lack of knowledge on what guinea pigs need.

I think its a great thing you did, I bet she'll come around in a few days! I cant wait to see a picture of her.
I got my girlies from Kijiji too! I also got my pot belly pigs there too They were all rescued from horrible homes.
