Hi sorry to interrupt Eva21 post, but it's maybe the same kind of situation. I know it's not the best way to leave the guinea pig for 2 or 3 days with lot of hay and water, so I might consider to bring them during my short trip, then I try to search some kind of small carrier like this list, but end up I don't think it's good for 2 days duration within small space. That kind of carrier might be good for vet visit or at least a few hours.

I don't ask yet if cat hotel in my hometown can accept guinea pig. The question how many days should be okay for the guinea pig to survive on its own? Is that 2 or 3 days very bad? The last solution I might ask a friend to look for.

I wouldn't leave them that long on their own @eijaja402 . A day is fine, but much more than that and they're likely to run out of something - probably water, and if one was to have an accident or fall ill, or there was a fight, it's a long time to wait for help. It's also a long time not to sweep up poop. When I'm away I ask my son or my neighbour to pop in twice a day to check, feed and clean up the poops. It also serves as a check that they're ok.

I will move this post to your own thread where it will get seen by more members.

Guinea pigs can be left overnight but not for days. Quite simply what happens if they knock their water over the first night and then have to go 3 days without. Please do ask a friend to look in on them if you are unable to take them with you
