So, I have to travel out of town to renew some passports. I'll only be gone from 5 pm on the 28th to about 2 or 3 pm on the 29th. So, not even a full 24 hours. If I left the guinea pigs with a lot of hay and water, would it be okay to leave them alone for that long?

I’ve left them overnight in a similar situation. I make sure to feed them their daily pellets before I go. Throw more hay in there than I know they would eat in a week and we have 2 extra water bottles for the 1 night each month we’re away that we hang up for them. Normally when we get back they are unimpressed with the change in veggie schedule and we are greeted with immediate wheeks for veg.

It’s not the best for your guineas as their veggie schedule will be changed and they will be a bit confused. But I have left mine like this before and I think that if you leave them with their water fresh with a lot of hay and give them a reasonable amount of veg they will be fine. I also recommend you make sure they have something that they will be entertained by in the hutch.
Hope this was helpful 🐖🐖

They will be fine. Just leave extra hay, pellets and a back up water bottle. They will forgive you once you return and feed them their veggies.
