can piggy's eat leeks,, and if so what part,, also turnip,, not swede,, a proper round turnip,, can they eat the skin of this,, ,,,

Hi Col,

As leeks are from the onion family they can't eat them. Not sure about Turnips. I'm sure it's every so often but not sure at all. Hopefully someone can let you know.

It's a shame they cannot eat potato peelings as they are ten a penny here. Drat! Never mind!

thanks guys,, it says in moderation only,, as i am doing a stew tomorrow tehy can have the bits left over,, but know not to buy loads in future,,,cheers for that
 
I'm confused 98) (I know, it's eaily done! ;D) I was told they could eat the green tops of leeks but not the white bits that we eat. Does anyone know for sure?
 
well i gave mine the leek tops and they were not a hit i am afraid,, so wont be bothering next time ::)
 
i always thought that they couldnt have any part of the leek :-\

me too... they're quite a strong oniony flavour/smell, even the tops....
