My other half was in Tesco yesterday and spotted ready cut Leeks and Cabbage in the reduced section, so brought some home for the guineas. Am I right in thinking they shouldn't have Leeks ?

If so anyone got a recipe which uses 3 bags of chopped Leeks and Cabbage :), they were only 10p each and he was trying to get them something nice, but I think it is all chopped a bit small to pick out the Leek.

He did get carrot and cucumber too

you're right - leeks are bad! Same family as onions and garlic.

I'd just steam them and have them for your sunday dinner tomorrow! good with gravy drool

I'd add some other veggies and make soup, and if you end up with too much, you could freeze it.

Hmmm, love leeks. They are great with Lots of food.

I chop them up, roughly, throw them in a pan with butter and season with pepper, keep stirring until butter absorbed and add a small portion of cream until warmed through and the leeks have softened and slightly caramelised from the butter cooking.

Yum yum
:p
