I just bought my daughter 2 female g.pigs today. 1 is all skettish and jumps and runs when we go in the cage ( as they do when babies and not hand trained) however, the other one is lying on its side curled. Barely moves even when we nuedge it. It also squeals when we pick it up. Never seen this before in a g.pig. any suggestions or help much appreciated....

You need to get her to the vet as an emergency I'd say. It sounds that she is in some sort of pain, I'm guessing bloat but obviously can't tell. Guinea pigs go downhill so quickly

Poor little pig, was it moving around when you got it?
maybe it's injured and in pain :(

There should be an out of hours vet in your area. If she isnt moving then she isnt eating.. This is an emergency.

Could you add your location to your profile, as this may help us pinpoint an emergency vet near you.

She's much better today. Moving a little, sitting better and she's been nibbling and I've shown her the water bottle. In fact she's doing more than the other one. But will still check in with vet tomorrow

Have you weighed her? If she isnt eating properly you will be able to tell from her weight. If it is dropping, please step in with syringe feeding: Complete Syringe Feeding Guide

All the best

I haven't but she looks the same. They have both been taking food from us last night and today and they've both been drinking. I have an appointment with our local vets today just to have them both checked over. Buttercup (the lame one) is even better again today and has done a little running arround. Things are looking up.
