hope they feel better soon. It's like that with pigs (as we know!) they seem fine but suddenly aren't. hugs to them and you!

Thanks guys. Will check on them shortly, just waiting for it to warm up a bit here, although no frost today which is nice for once. :)

Just an update. Treated the girls and they are now happily munching a carrot as a treat bless them! Bringing the run in from outside and putting them in the utility room as they need to be away from the others me thinks. They aren't thriving within the herd so perhaps they will fair better as a twosome. :)

Two of my 4 boys got mites a while back. Treated with Ivermectin 450 3 times in 6 weeks as per instructions. They're all fine now. I only noticed too when I saw a bald patch. That's probably the first you'd know about it. Glad they're feeling better!

I ended up making a pen with the grids. They are munching on green beans at the mo Just throwing all kinds in to fatten them up! Poops look a bit odd more wetter than usual but I'll continue to monitor that. Lyra already looks a bit better and the other girls up to now don't appear to be missing them! :)

Just to update girls are already looking far better, keeping them on dried as one of them does have wetter poops, will supplement with critical care if need be. Lyra has lost 100g! Soon have her looking the fatty miss she is!

Thanks for all you support, where would I be without you all! ^)

Hi!

My piggies has mites at the moment as well. I have taken him to the vet (on Saturday) and she gave him and injection but it doesn't look like it's doing anything for him. In fact, it looks like it's spreading. Would you say the Xeno 450 is better? I have ordered some Ivermectin drops for him already. Do you think this would be better?

All advice is welcome as, although I have had guinea pigs for nearly two years now, it's all still a bit of a learning curve for me.

Thanks a lot!

Hiya,

I've used both the injections and the Xeno 450 and can't say which cleared up quicker. Both the same really in my experience. I would still visit a vet to ensure it is mites that is what I did. My girls were really bad and lost weight it was dramatic and so quick.

The Xeno 450 did the trick for them, no painful injections. :)
