Today the OH, my best mate and I trekked down to Eastbourne Rabbit and GP Rescue to pick up Snicker's new hubby!

We had intended to pick up a young part sheltie boy called Waffle...but when we got there Caroline (who runs the rescue) said another neutered boy's home had fallen through, did we want to meet him too? Never one to pass up piggie cuddles, I said yes...and out came Bruno, a (I think) Teddy!

Well I had a cuddle with both boys, chatted to Caroline about their personalities to see who might best match Snicks, and we came home with....

~drumroll~ (lol)

BRUNO!

Overall he is more laid back than Waffle, and as Snicks is quite a dominant pig we think a calmer boy would suit her more. There is also my slight addiction to rough haired/floofy guinea pigs...ahem...

We are not sure whether to stick with Bruno or change it...I also like Rufus...suggestions welcome!

He has settled in well and already tasted the local cuisine...please excuse the shavings, I am all out of paper and so gave him a very very thin layer to soak up his wee, I am going to buy more shredded paper first thing tomorrow when he will be changed

4 weeks til we bond them!

He's gorgeous drool

&& I think he suits Bruno, I quite like it :)

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww he is such a sweetie pie! x) x) Perhaps.....Piglet? hehe! Such a beautiful piggie drool x)

Thank you all :))

Just went out to check on him, he seems fine, has munched all his carrot and eaten quite a lot of his dinner!

We think we might keep Bruno...it does seem to suit him...naming is hard!

awwww he reminds me of my bear so i think he should be named Bear rolleyesxoxo

Baxter, Farley, Wilbur?
My boar is called Rufus! It was the first name that came into my head when I saw him and it turned out to be very fitting cos it means red which he is!

He's gorgeous! And definitely teddy - he's got the straight whiskers. Nerys and Nia are VERY jealous of Snickers!

Woohoo I thought straight = teddy, glad I got it right!

I'm going to give it a couple of weeks then move them into a hutch with a mesh in the middle to make the intro smoother when it happens, as I so want them to get on!

Best of luck with the intros!

Names: Do you want to continue with the sweets theme? Malteser, Mars etc... Or would you prefer a real name? Harald, Ranulf, Olaf, Snorre - sorry, he just looks a bit Viking to me!

Thank you, I am hoping the nice weather will still be about as they always seem to go better when grass is involved...

Well we were going to continue with the sweets theme, but seeing as I have 7 out of my 12 names after foodstuffs and it drives my OH mad, unless it really suits him I was thinking of something different!

I kinda like Olaf! He does look a bit Viking doesn't he?! I think he needs a bit of a 'soft' name though, as he really doesn't seem very tough, we did a tiny test holding him and Waffle next to each other at Caroline's and Waffle immediately went rumbling and such whereas our boy hid in my jumper! I seem to end up with all the wimpy boars! I tend to like names that can be shortened, like Snickers gets called Snicks, Whiskey gets called Whisks, Noodles gets call Noods (or Noodlebum lol) you get the picture. Oh and nothing that sounds stupid when I yell it up the garden (tho I call Bumble BumBums so you know, already sound pretty stupid tbh!)

ooh he's lovely! Bruno is nice but if you wanted something a bit softer perhaps Henry? :-) x

You could always keep it as Bruno and shorten it to Bru, makes me want a cup of tea though....also, it's soft too :)

We are now considering Bramwell, after Bramwell Brown from the teddy bear stories books...as he is such a cuddly boy!

He is lovely and so much like one of my teddy girls star..:)p:)p

Well we have spent a lot of time with him trying to suss out the name, lol. And we have been a bit rubbish and stuck with Bruno...as it just seems to fit him!

(It also solves all the arguments in the house about whose idea was best...)

He really is the most friendly, inquisitive guinea ever, we took him down to see Pebbles and her gang today and he was interested in everything, and had lots of fun turning the hidey she gave him upside down...repeatedly... rolleyes

If anyone wanted a testimony as to why rescue pigs are the best, he is it. I have had piggies from many places but you can tell he has been well handled, used to people, given attention...everything a good rescue would do. Caroline has added me on FB too so she can keep in touch with him.

Mum has decided he is staying whether he likes Snickers or not...!
