Lettuce

Hi!

I was told today i should not give my pigs lettuce as it's stringy and it gets stuck in there tummy and makes a knot is this right? :{

I think all lettuce is okay except iceberg.

I believe you need to cut up celery because of the string thing but didn't think lettuce was quite the same?

Well it won't get stuck in their tummies and make a knot! Iceberg lettuce should be avoided though - it's just water and nitrates. Other lettuce is ok to feed occasionally as part of a varied diet.
