Guinea-piggies-94

Is it true that ice-burg lettuce is unhealthy or something like that for guineas? I heard it isnt good for them. Please help as i have been feeding him tht love hannah and patch x

It isn't good for him, not sure why but I read somewhere it is toxic. Don't know if that is true but I give mine romaine lettuce-they love it O0 I also give them kale, cabbage, celery, chicory, carrot (but not too much as it is too high in vitamin A), baby corn, cucumber, pak choi, carrot leaves, grass, plantain and yarrow occasionally (which I grow) and some dandelion leaves now and again (which I pick!) not too many as can give them runny poo. Also a little parsely, apple or pear once or twice a week :smitten:

And lavenderjade you give them grass from peoples front gardens that you dont know lol x 98)

SSSSHHHHHHHH ;Di I am only helping them to keep their grass short! :police:

Mine absoutly love romaine/cos lettuce and it's lasts longer too. i always rummage through the reduced stuff in Tescos for cheap salads , lettuce and veg. :embarassed: :)

My piggy lopedia says that they shouldn't have too much lettuce full stop as it contains Laudanum which is a sedative and iceberg is toxic,
