I was tucking the piggies in for the night and Lexi was quieter than usual. I reached in to stroke her and usually she would run away but she didn't. I put her in the carry box to see if she is weeing and pooping. Her wees are normal but her poop is quite soft. It is slightly formed not runny and she doesn't appear to be in pain anywhere. She has eaten some food but not with the enthusiasm she normally has. I am waiting to hear back from the vet and at the latest I will take her in after work tomorrow. I have given her some probiotic and mashed pellets.

Spoke to the vet, she said as long as she is pooing and eating that is good. I will keep an eye on her and take her in tomorrow after work.

Hope lexi is ok it could be a number of things. If she has soft poo the first thing to do is stop giving her Veg. Make sure she's eating plenty of hay and pellets. The fact that she's lethargic indicates she's not feeling well. Probiotics are good and Will help. Give her plenty of water too. Hope it goes well at the vets x x

She just doesn't fancy hay or pellets. I gave her some of the herb mix that they like and she got excited, had a nibble then stopped.:( She will be going to the vets in half an hour.

She is staying in for "intensive nursing." She will be fed more often than I can and she will have some injections to keep her gut moving. He tried to look at her teeth but they were covered in the mushed pellets I had been giving her. Does anyone with toothy problem pigs think that this is what might be wrong? She looks interested in food then gives up and she has been eating some of her veg but not her pellets.

my boy that had teeth problems only every tried to eat carrot, but he found it hard, so sad to watch them try.

I hope she has a good night, probably good that she is staying for intensive treatment x

It may not necessarily be a tooth problem. A pig in pain generally won't eat, when they don't eat the gut slows & stops, gas builds up which then causes pain & the cycle continues.
I have had a pig who exhibited similar symptoms to yours, he didn't have tooth problems but he did have metaclopramide (gut stimulant) metacam, antibiotics (incase infection was present) & was syringe fed. He made a full recovery.
I do hope Lexi goes on ok. :)

Lexi is staying in for another night.:( She was quite bright when I went to see her and her teeth are all ok. She has quite watery poo but the vet says her gut is still moving. She is on a variety of meds and has had some salad leaves. I brought her some of her favourite veg to tempt her to eat and she had one little piece of little gem lettuce. The idea is that whatever it is, food is better than no food. Since I left she has eaten 1 or 2 of the bits I left for her which means she actually went across the cage ate it and went back which is good.

Do you know if they're giving Lexi some probiotics? This will help with the gut :)

Sending healing wheeeeeeeks from the girls and I xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Awwww little Lexy.....I hope she is feeling even better today. Let us know when you get the chance.

xxxxxx

She's been eating :<> I am going to bring her home to see if being with her friends will perk her up even more.

WE HAVE POO! :<> She hasn't pooed for nearly two days and now she has. It is small and sticky but formed. She is so happy to be back with Kizzy and Charlotte. I am going to keep them inside in the run with a grid divider between them so she is with her friends but I can know if she is pooping. She has been taking the syringe mush nicely, eating veggies and she is quite bouncy. I am so pleased with her.
