My two newest pigs have been diagnosed with mites and lice. We had a vet appointment on Monday and they both had a panamec injection and need to go back for another in two weeks.
I've moved them indoors into their plastic indoor cage and am in the process of disinfecting the hutch to within an inch of its life!
Alvin is a 9 month old fox so his fur is pretty short and sleek, however Peppa. who is 18 months, is a swiss so has quite long and wirey hair. The self-inflicted wounds are no longer bleeding and seem to be healing but I have bought a few trial size bits from Gorgeous Guineas to give them a nice shampoo but I was wondering a) if I can use louse and other shampoos while they have mites and sores b) is there anything else I can do for my pair?
They don't seem to be in distress anymore now they have had their jabs but there are still plenty of lice present!
