Found that Dave was a bit cooty this morning with lice - not many so I think I've caught him early. So, I've treated both him and Ben with Spot-on (I know, I know, natural is better, but they get really stressed in the bath and Dave actually cries and tries to jump out so I didn't want to put him through that). Anyhow, I had Garry who had lice before and I don't recall throwing the bag of hay away (this is the only place I think they will come from). I'm guessing as the Spot-on is an ongoing 'treatment', then they will become resistant to the lice that are there? Blimey...God love piggies!:))

Dont get me started on Licey Hay! (see my thread on health and illness if you want to know!) :))

Glad you got it early on!

My two love burying themsleves in hay and I've tried the Peter Gurney aromatherapy approach........ our living room smells lovely as well as the piggies.....fingers crossed though it seems to be doing the trick
good luck

Thanks! I think because I caught them early, the spot on stuff did the trick. I don't like using it really, but in the end I only used one pipette of it rather than two. Seems to have cleared them up. Dave still sleeps under the hay rack so there's no preventing it really!rolleyes

Sorry for the delay it's Piggy Potions
(it's about a fiver on amazon so real good value!)
Give the piggy a shampoo (i;ve used lice n easy from gorgeous guineas) then massage the essential oil mixture (one drop lavendar, one drop lemongrass and eight drops of almond oil) into the skin. leave on for 7 days. shampoo and massage again - leave on for a further 3 days and then shampoo

My lot have just ended their treatment .... and touch wood they seem to be a lot better

... the living room smelled lovely!

Good luck!
