does anyone know what it means when a pig licks you? i cant hold piglet without him licking my fingers (i dont mind, i think it's really cute). george and roger dont do it. is it a sign of affection, or is he just a little weirdo and likes the way it tastes? he only licks me and occasionally my OH. i told my dad, dad held out his hand and piglet had no interest, so it makes me think it's affection. do other pigs do this? what do you think it means?

I think they lick the salt off, but they only do it with people they really trust because whenever my mum or brother holds Squeaky he shows no interest in their hands. But when I hold him he doesnt stop licking my hands and arms! Its really cute x)

Luigi does this to me but none of the others do. I've not really got an idea why, though it might be to do with the fact he can smell the girls on me
 
I think its a combination of affection and there being something on your hands that they like. Mine do it if i touch them right after zumba whilst I'm still sweaty, its the salt :))
 
Id like to think that it was a way of showing affection, but its probably for the salt. my piggy shadow took a liking to licking my face earlier but it was about half hour after id been crying (my hamster died) It was comforting tho :) xx
 
Awwww, it's gonna be the salt on your skin - but I will always believe it is piggie kisses, only Treacle does this with me, but when she does I love it!
 
yeh i wondered about this but my guinea pig has took it to the extreme, now if you make kissy noises near him he will kiss your lips or your cheek. he does it all the time when hes in a cuddly mood, when ive just been crying he does do it a bit but not as much as when I'm not? he does lick my fingers all the time but i think it may be affection because he is my special little piggy :)

My Patchy is a Mister Licky too lol! It's only me he licks - esp my face, hands, arms, ears....!

The other 3 dont do it at all - funny isn't it?
