i know piggies are supposed to live for about 6 -7 maybe 8 years. but when do they start to settle down and stop jumping around and being as active? beacause i m getting worried about my guinea pig whos only 3 and she always just eats and lies down and sleeps. also i noticed (a bit yuck) but her poos were kind of pointy at one end. (literally only saw today). please tell me :...

Are all her poops a different shape? My three year olds sleep a lot so I think that is normal.

Two of mine are 3, they eat, sleep, eat, sleep some more have a bit of a mad moment sleep some more and then eat. so sounds quite normal as energy goes , not sure on the poop though

that sounds a bit younge for it to be slowing down because of their age though. I suggest going to a vet, it sounds like something could be wrong. But Idk for sure, maybe just take it anyways, for like a check up, just to be sure.

I find that even my 18 month olds can be quite sedate little piggies. If you think something isn't quite right though then definitely get her checked out. You know best if something's a bit off with your piggy and isn't normal for her!

To be honest I don't know of many pigs that have lived to the age of 6 or 7 and definitely not 8. I would say 4/5 years is probably the average. If pigs are active and then sleep I really don't think its a problem. If you are worried though, go to a vet.

:)thank you soo much for your fast responses
i think i will just keep an eye on her and if I'm more worried i will get her (jumpy, my sis named her)checked out
problem is it costs like £40 and theres probably nothing wrong and my dad will have a fit (I'm 12 years old) because he doesnt understand why people spend so much money there, but if i think there something wrong i WILL take her to the vet.:(
i suppose i was worried becuase nibbles ( in my first pair) died at 2 we dont know why, though jumpy lived.

thankz
