I searched the forum and couldn't really find anything specifically about this.

I've read that the normal pig's poop must be dark brown or black. But my pigs's poop is mainly light brown. There are some darker specimens, hehe, but most of them look light. Should I be worried? I don't see anything else wrong with them, I got just a bit concerned because everywhere I look that's the information I find. Could it be that they're missing something in their diet? They have fresh water and hay all the time; in the morning, I give them a few pellets, and vegetables twice a day, about 100gr. per pig.

Oh, and both the consistency and shape seem okay, the only 'weird' thing is the color.

Hi! I would recommend to at least halve the amount of veg. It should only make about 10% of the daily food intake while 1 tablespoon of pellets is about 5% - the rest should be hay, hay, hay.

Have a look through our diet guide and the sample diet. With the help of it, your poos will likely turn a little darker. Too dark isn't good either because that points to too little hay being eaten.

Ok, I'll cut down on the vegetables. Thank you, Wiebke!

Just a follow-up: I've reduced their intake of vegetables and their poop indeed became darker. Phew! Thanks again!
