Had a scare saturday morning with dot my 2 year old guinea pig I found pink urine on the newspaper Under The Fleece so I rushed her to the vets at cat and rabbit care clinic but the Simon and Kim was on holiday so I saw a normal vet and she felt Dorothy and said she is weaking when I press a certain area I said this is probably normal because she's sensitive on her back end but the vet said we should try baytril and metacam for a week and see how she goes but I tried it for two days and she stopped eating .Now I have stopped the medication she still seems to be less active eating a little bit but I think she is just scared because I got up in the morning Saturday and got her straight out of bed and into my car where I rushed like crazy to get to the appointment I think she may be spooked that's why she isn't eating much and not coming out much when I get her out for floor time she's totally fine. She has had pink urine before and simon said he couldnt find anything wrong and it went away.this time it has gone away too.i dont know what to do.she does get easily spooked. Basicly the vet didnt seem sure atall.it felt more like she was just trying to seem good.but it seemed to me like a waste of £40

Hi!

Please contact your vet if your piggy is losing its appetite from an antibiotic but only stop treatment with consent of your vet.

Step in with syringe feed promptly it that happens. I would strongly recommend to always have a supply of recovery formula and probiotics at home. Emergencies have a bad habit of happening at the worst of times!
