This is Lilac-Rose - a rescue who came in on Thursday to me. Her eye was in a dreadful condition and she was very very thin. Took her vet Friday and she is on recovery food now and had antibiotics - huge abscess with lots of ulceration to the left side of her inner cheek.

This is her on Thursday.

How old do you think she is Helen?

So pleased she is looking a lot better Helen, she's a gem! I bet you don't want to part with her. It's always the way with ones you treat and see getting better. I think you are a wonderful piggy nurse, you worked wonders with Stig and his sores. Well done you! :smitten:

Aw that looks so much better, bless her! Well done little girly keep up the good work :smitten:
And well done to you too Helen xxxxxx

That is a good start, hope recovery continues well. :smitten:

That has improved loads in the short space of time youve had her :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Fantastic thats brilliant news! I'm sooo pleased! :smitten:

Hi

Good to see that your pig is on the mend but the reason i am commenting is that i have a little one who looks almost the same as yours (red eyes, white bum and tummy and a cream head.) keep the page open a i will post some pictures in .

Here she is having her feed tonight. She took a small amount from the syringe but does prefer to lick it off the spoon - clever isn't she?

She is one delightful guinea pig - such a gentle little soul.
I am taking her to the vet in the morning so he can check her over again.

Aww she's really great! She looks as bright as a button! :smitten:

Yes lets hope the vet can actually see inside her mouth tomorrow. The fact that she is still here with us gives me much hope. If she carries on like this I will get her fattened up a bit as she really is quite bony - and she may be ready for rehome in a week or two.

Aw yay! i love meeting piggies, especially gorgeous little fighters like this one :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

I agree Emma, it's ok looking at cute pigs and I love them all but when you hear the background and they have been through the mill it makes all the difference. :smitten: x

For me, its like Stiggy all over again - they go to a fab new home but because of what they have been through and the treatment you have to really put them through - they just stay in your heart.

She is SO like him - very sweet - very chatty - just a big cuddle baby really. I do hope she is ok - I really am hoping she is over the worst now - I think so. Whoever homes this little girl will have a very very special piggy.

Ladies ladies................no, I am not keeping her.......................

I have enough boys in my house to keep me out of mischief and that includes a 3 year old son and a husband................................

My new boars will be posted soon promise...........................................so naughty keeping them really.

Just back from the vets with Liiac-Rose. He checked her mouth and said the abscess is still pus filled but she was certainly livelier than on Friday and he could see a little bit more. He is happy with her progress and has given us more Recovery food and a syringe with antibiotic in it.

He is confident she will now get better but said not to take that as read just yet. She ate some carrot, brocolli and spring greens this morning so that's a real plus. Here's hoping in another week she will be perfectly fine and will be putting on weight nicely.
