Hi everyone,

On Sunday we noticed Lilly had some slime? on his bottom, so cleaned him up and been keeping an eye on it, weighed him and he was the same as friday 1140g, since then he has been fine, pooing normally, no more slime, eating like a horse, drinking, happy etc, but he now weighs 1100g, so a loss of 40g since sunday, i know that isn't a huge loss but wonder if it might be connected or just a coinsidence?

xx

You know 40g is nothing. Unless you've got the most accurate scales in the world, I wouldn't worry about anything under 100g in a day/two days. A couple of poops, different appetite, different time of day or your scales can account for a difference of up to 100g easily. The weight loss is nothing to worry about - definitiely. I would keep an eye on his weight just to be sure though but I'm guessing you already are :)

The slime is a little more concerning potentially. What kind of slime was it and where did it come from? Is he an outdoor piggy (could the slime have come from elsewhere and he's just sat in it/walked in it)?

I would just keep an eye on the weight for now - 40g in a couple of days may just be a poo or something.... I'd weigh him everyday now just to monitor though but would imagine you already are doing this... Really don't know about the slime but if you haven't seen anymore then it's a good thing I would imagine.

Hope someone may know a little more. Love to Lilly x Hope it turns out to be nothing, keep us updated x

Hopefully, it's just a glib. 40g is not yet to worry about, only if the weight loss continues.

They are indoors, so not something from outside, Though i gave them a handful of grass which i wonder if this might be connected. I know 40g isn't much, but when he had this slime stuff you wonder if they are connected and 40g soon turns into 80g then 100g.

Lee - Thanks love, yes i have been weighing him twice a day actually and it is flunctuating a few grams either way which i am not fussed about, as you say its the difference of a poo/wee etc. But he is happy in himself still eating/playing etc, i think i might take him to Jan's anyway just to have his teeth checked just incase its the start of something... I will text OH and ask him to weigh and report back

Thanks guys. x

What colour was the slime?

Clear with a brown tinge, slime was the only way to describe it, but that was the only slime we had, no more since sunday, poo's are ok if a little soft, but i am limiting his veggies. x

If anything, I'd say maybe he had a little too much wet food/grass or sth that he wouldn't normally have and he got a little wet poop/diarrhoea. If his weight is holding I'd say that was probably what it was. Maybe just cut back on his wet food for a day or two :)

He was having me on the little devil. He is fine thanks lovey. I reckon he just wanted some attention, he wanted to be hand fed and put on the scales so he can curl up and go to sleep :))

They are in their C&C set up now so enjoying that. x

:)) rolleyes piggles....

Glad all is well...sometimes I find the occassional 'slimey' poo from Bruce our older boar and find if I reduce his wet veg for a day or so, it clears. Any longer, I give him 1ml of Fibreplex which really helps.
Hugs to your boy xx>>>
