Junior Guinea Pig
Lily was such a special girl to me. Ever since I adopted her she was so outgoing and loved to explore, and run around my kitchen, and be held and comforted.
She lived a long, happy six year life. She was bonded my Luna throughout most of her life and was such a good friend to her.
She would beg every morning for a little treat and would always let us know when dinner time was ready.
These last few days I knew in my heart that is was almost her time.
We got to share a special moment last night and she went to sleep in my arms. I told her I loved her and set her down in her cage.
I hope she had a peaceful transition into the rainbow bridge. She was healthy and got to have a last little piece of lettuce last night.
She was curled in her sweet little bed this morning and had passed away. It still hits you hard, but i’m so glad she got so many years with us. I think I started to be in denial of how she was slowing down, but the last few days I knew that her time was limited with us.
I think this marks my end of time caring for guinea pigs for now.
I’m busy in college, and I hope one day in the future I can show my children what amazing little pets they are.
This forum has been so helpful since the beginning, no matter the question or advice needed <3
