Dear Lily,

On 20th June 2018, you could no longer keep fighting your illness, and had to leave us before the age of 5 years.

I hope that we did our best for you- we never really knew what was the reason behind your suspected URI, gut issue and then finally walking not quite as sprightly as usual. It was once your walking changed that I knew you were going to leave us to see Lola who walked very similar towards her end. You only saw the vet a day before you passed, where we gave you medication to help with your walking issue, but after a day of medication we found you gone to visit Lola at the Rainbow Bridge- still very warm. I wish you could have held on a little longer so that we could have been with you when you had to leave.

It was only in the morning that you came downstairs on the fleece blanket, twizzling around, giving headbutts to grandma and ready for your medication. I would not have expected this to be the last time.

I held onto you for hours and hours after you left, cherishing your lovely silky fur.

You have left a huge hole in my heart- I wake up in the morning and still visit your piggy palace despite there being no bright eyed piggy dashing up at the bars to greet me and give piggy kisses. There will be no piggy veg being ordered on the shopping list, tiddle accidents on the sofa or seeing the back of your adorable crest and fabulous rear when at the pellet bowl, all of which I would give anything to do again.

I imagine young Lola will be thrilled to see you waiting at the entrance of the Rainbow Bridge- don't be having any arguments over who can have the kitchen to theirself this time, and tell Lola we miss her too.

Don't ever forget us. You and Lola have brought so much happiness that will not be replaced.

Gone from our sight but never from our hearts, night night my princess dinky toy.
