Limited or unlimited pellets?

Should I be feeding my piggies only so much a day or unlimited pellets, I always thought it was unlimited but than I read the bag and now I'm confused. Ive looked up online and the majority say's limited.

It depends on your piggies. I feed unlimited because my girls will just eat a few when they are hungry, but when I was chatting to Wiebke at the weekend, she was saying that she has to feed a limited amount as she has some piggies that would overeat.

Just monitor their behaviour and see whether you need to restrict them or not.

I agree - it all depends on your individual piggies and their set up. I tend to limit in spring and summer, because I do have 1 particular piggy, mentioning no names...Violet, who has a tendency to podginess, but always give them unlimited over the winter - I figure they need the extra calories to keep themselves warm.
However, since they've been free ranging in a shed I have honestly noticed that they're all slimmer through all the extra exercise. I've also now got a new rescue piggy, Oscar, who could do with fattening up a little, so I think that I'll now switch to unlimited pretty much all of the time.

I had been feeding unlimited, I'd just give them a handful in the morning and it would last until evening when I would fill it again, however, they've started getting a bit porky and with the girls being 3 now and Archie 2 they don't need the unlimited pellets like baby pigs do. Now I'm giving them a small amount in each bowl morning and evening. It's cute to see them all queueing up waiting for their pellets in the morning
As everyone else has said, it depends on how greedy yours are really. If they stuff their faces I would limit the amount they get, but if they just pick at it (and aren't getting too chubby) then you can feed unlimited.

4 of my pigs are fed unlimited pellets and 2 have a handful per day as they are very much on the heavy side and really do eat like pigs! My hubby even suggested getting them trough mallethead

My other 4 eat when they're hungry and always have pellets left over on a morning x

all of mine are unlimited basically as they have to eat up whats in their bowls before I replace it. They do pick a lot so there is no worry of them overeating and now they are inside I can leave the food for them to eat up, in the summer the herds bowls get changed each day because of the slugs.

I always used to give unlimited pellets to previous piggies, however I am starting to consider that maybe too many are a bad thing so mine are strictly limited & I never have any waste at all now. I have one huge piggy that will lie down by the bowl & stuff her face otherwise

for me its limited pellets but unlimited hay as mojo would just stuff his face and become more of a porker
