Anyone have any instances where one of the legs was being favored or limped? we just noticed today that Lucy is not really walking much on her back right leg. She drags it somewhat, and doesnt seem to put much pressure on it.. We picked her up and when we touch it she does pull it or move it, so she can feel it. We touch all around the area and she doesnt make any pain sounds.. Very weird, Not sure what happened, We though maybe she got her nail stuck in towel and might have jerked.. Is there anything we can do? Does this happen and just needs to heal?

Please help, I'm sure someone has had this issue to.

Thanks

Did she fall recently? Does her cage have a ramp she could have fallen of of? It could be a sprain. Another thing it could be is a vitamin c deficiency. My piggy Bob had one, and was favoring certain legs. Here's a link on deficiencies http://www.guinealynx.info/scurvy.html

It would be best to take your piggy to a vet. Good luck!

no there really isnt anything for her to fall of in the cage... i think she might hve got her nail stuck in the towel... she is behaving fine... she gets plenty of vitamin c... she gets green pepers, carrots, cucumbers on a daily basis an somtimes apples and or grapes..i dont see how that can be a problem.. i cant keep taking them to the vets for every little thing, i just dont have the income for it.. i will let her rest and maybe it will be ok, she doesnt seem to be showing pain..

My Fred had a bad leg once. I went to see to them in the morning and he was limping really bad with his front foot. He seemed fine apart from this so I took him to the vet the next day (otherwise it wou.d have been emergency vet as it was a Sunday). They thought he had sprained his leg. Possibly through climbing up the cage and getting his claw stuck. He copied this off of his more agile brother Ginger! They gave me anti inflammatories and anti biotic in case of a puncture wound (although none was visible). I put him on one level of his hutch for a few weeks and he got better.

thats what is appears for me too, there is only one level, but she is blind and sometimes she jumps our of the bin when she gets scared and hits hard into her hidy, I was thinking that or got her nail stuck in the towels and jerked.. Like i said when I touch it, she still moves it away so she has feeling in it, just doesnt use it much.
