My poor piggy has hurt his back leg this afternoon, he is limping/hopping, he was running around his cage like a mad man, next thing I know he’s hurt himself. He didn’t cry out, and I’ve picked him up and he isn’t crying when I move his leg and he can weight bare on it to be able to beg for veggies and he’s running around and walking. My vets isn’t open now until Monday, I’ve got metacam already and I’ve given him a dose. I’ve decided until my vets is open I’m going to give him metacam and keep an eye on him. Does this sound ok?

It sounds like a sprain rather than anything more serious, and it's good that you have already started with the metacam. I think it's sensible to keep up the pain relief and keep a close eye on him. If he's not crying if you touch it or if he walks on it, it's probably ok to leave it unless it gets worse.

I'd divide the metacam into two doses daily, if you aren't already.

Yeah I will do:) yeah he isn’t crying when he walks and he just was up at the bars for some veggies. I’ll give him metacam and see how he gets on thankyou
