I am after some advice about my boys!

Recently my white piggie was not putting any weight on his back right leg and after reading some threads on here I put it down to pulling a muscle, and within a week or two it did get better.

Anyway, the same thing has happened to my black piggie but worse and my white one is also limping again! It is odd that it the same back right leg!

There cages have not changed and the floor time area has not changed either. They are two years old and have always been fine and well.

Is it just muscle strain or something else? Just seems odd it has happened to the pair of them and the same leg within the last month or so!

Any advice would be good!

Worried Piggie Mum!

We give them plenty of fresh fruit and veg so it seems odd if it is, but will try a change in diet. Thanks for the advice.

Thank you for your advice. We are gradually changing there dry food, increased there veg and giving them vit c tablets. They seem much better already but will keep it up! Thanks again!

I am glad that things are getting better!

It is important to know how much vitamin C is in your guinea pig's dry food. personally, I also make sure that I include at least one or two veg high in vitamin C in my own piggies' daily diet. Have you seen this list from guinea lynx?

Please syringe the vitamin C and do not add to the water.

It does sound like scurvy. My piggy Fermi had similar symptoms, she was limping. I gave her vit c tablets and it cleared up really fast :)

Thanks for all the help and advice.

They are slowly on the mend, but Vince still has a little limp. Lets hope in another couple of weeks with the new routine they both will be fighting fit!
