So today we took Linney back to the vet for a recheck of her urinary tract infection. She was obviously feeling terrible last Tuesday (lethargic, laying in the corner and refusing to eat or drink) but the antibiotics seemed to help literally overnight. Since then she has been on Baytril twice a day and has been eating and behaving normally. I wanted to take her back to get her urine tested for occult blood again before stopping the antibiotics. Unfortunately, we could just not get her to pee- so rather than try to get a sample through any invasive means, the vet gave me a second week of Baytril and a sterile cup and syringe to obtain a sample myself and advised me to bring the sample back later in the week. I'm quite happy with that, as she is doing really well on the antibiotics. The vet had a good feel of her abdomen and couldn't feel any stones, but if she still has blood when her urine is checked next week we will be doing an x-ray to rule that out. I'm just glad to see her being chipper and happy and her old self again, though she was upset to find herself back at the vet so soon- I could tell she was feeling better as she was making her best effort to make a run for it when the vet was trying to feel her abdomen!

I am so glad to hear that Linney is feeling better :) It can't be pleasant and Baytril does not taste nice for a piggie! She must know that it is helping her :)

Please keep us updated on her progress :)

Glad to hear Linney is feeling better. Hoppefully she will continue to improved and be back to normal in no time!
