Liquorice back from final check up - also can anyone look after her whilst i'm away?

Everything going well, now off the baytril (yeaaahh!) and just on metacam for the forseeable future. The vet has suggested I give her another couple of weeks at .2ml then try and gradually lower it to see how she copes, and if I find she needs in the very least .05 - .1 ml then we're happy with that. All goes well, she has 3 months of not seeing a vet.
Can any one suggest other oral antibiotics, just in case we need to put her on another course of baytril at a later date? Just so she's not kept on the same type and to avoid building immunity to her treatment.
Here's my plea.. I'm away from the 5th Oct to the 8th Oct. She needs her metacam and a knowledgeable GP owner, who can look after her for that short time.
I'd let my Oh's son look after her, but think something like this requires someone who knows just what to do without being shown, and leaving a very worried mummy whilst away..

(Baytril is banned in my house by my vets as all my piggies have been diagnosed as carrying baytril-resistant staph and strep bacteria)

I'd offer to look after her - but I'm rather far away and the short period of time doesn't justify you paying the petrol costs for two return journeys to Sussex.

Can you approach a nearby rescue (or your own vets) and pay boarding costs?

I keep pinching myself.. ever since 2 weeks ago on Friday, her eye has had no further issues, I rarely have to wipe it, even then it's just to remove bits of sleep/crust.. She's still getting the probiotics, i'll leave her on that for the next couple of weeks and see how she goes :))
 
Look i agree, i think it's absolutely necessary when they've been on meds for so long to get their gut flora back to normal again! well that's my opinion and having been thru the two girls on meds for so long it's worked so far for Onyx!
