Litter training guinea-pigs

Can it be done? I want to get my guinea-pigs some more soft beds but they pee on everything :)) If you've litter trained your guinea-pigs how did you do it?
 
I once tried and failed badly. I just do not think they can be. They will always poop everywhere.
 
I have a 4x2 c and c with fleece. At the top I have an L shaped hay loft which is newspaper and hay. I have found that after I have made the hay loft fully enclosed so that it has sides and a lid the boys only wee in there. They spend time down stairs and there are the occasionally poops but its a revelation as they wee and poo upstairs where it's out of the way and less cleaning and less smell!
I would suggest depending on what your set up is have an area where it is very dark as a wee area and they will hopefully wee there!
 
Ok, thank you :) I think I'll give it a try, although my piggies are so messy :))
 
One of my friends has really tidy pigs that just poo in one corner....I don't have pigs anything like this -_-
 
I have 2 relatively trained pairs of pigs! They tend to pee in the litter tray but most of their poo is everywhere!

I don't mind that though as poo is easier to clear up than pee :))
