Good morning everyone,
So I was thinking about litter training my two sows. I don't like all the poo on their floor and I have a feeling they don't like it either. I've never met much neater pigs than these two, quite honestly. :) So I want to start litter training them. Here are my questions: Is it possible to train adult pigs to the litter box idea? Are there any specific methods I should try? Is there anything I should know before I start? Is there a specific kind of litter pan/bedding I should buy?
Thanks to all who reply!

I use the base of a hamster cage with a fiddlesticks for them to get in and out in one cage and two kitten litter trays in the big cage You could use a large storage box and cut it at the side so they can get in or out or use choroplast to make a box I cover them with fleece (draped over sides) as they prefer to use it in privacy Just put litter tray in corner where they usually go I still get poos on my fleece but nearly all wee in litter tray You can get corner litter trays as well but mine like to hide in the hay in it

My Piggies - Pecan & Maple use to be in a hutch and I discovered that they both liked to pee and poop in the left hand corner which made a lovely trail of pee down the wall.

When they were moved into the shed they peed underneath the ramp so put a large seed tray underneath and low and behold! They peed and pooped! Didn't even need to train them. Although with the three new girlies - I have found they prefer sleeping in the litter tray :P the amount of times I've seen Maple, Patchy and Bo in there hahaha!
