Has anyone succesfuly litter trained their guinea pig?
I have read about it, but any tips would be appreciated..

i did for a while but they got bored and I got bored of watching them 
basically if you put poos and dirtied litter in the litter tray and then a layer of hay round the edge they tend to sit in it and wee and poo whilst in there! mine used to be good as gold but now they do it where they please. They do use the tray sometimes though so I keep it in there and clean it out daily, atleast there are less poos / wees about that way

I managed to train my gp but only when I have him playing on my bed. I have a towel in a corner of the bed (always the same towel,always at the same corner) and he only wees and poos on that towel. What I did,was take his poos,put them on that towel and made sure that he noticed.Fortunately he did the rest by himself and has never did anything naughty since then.I hope I helped 
My two girls live at my nursery in the week and at home at weekends. I decided a couple of weeks ago that they could go free range in my hall as they play out there for hrs at a time anyway.
Over a long period of time I'd noticed that they usually pee where there is hay and they quite liked to hide as if noone could see them {:| sooo I bought a potty pan from pets@home, placed it in a box so that they felt hidden, lined it with bedding and hay and hey presto thats where they pee!
The 1st wkend I found 1 little patch on the carpet and this weekend nothing also when I cleaned out the potty it was soaking! So its definatly working.
Also if I want lap time I place them in the potty 1st and they really do go.

When you have them roaming, they establish their own toilet corners - so if you place something soft and /or containing hay there, you won't have any problems with peeing.
Droppings is another matter, though. some pigs (especially sows) are quite to very fastidious, but my boy is still very scatty, and I can't break him of the habit. I have to go poo-picking regularly.
