So I have had my piggies 8 days now, i have got a cat litter tray for their hay/kitchen area with wood shavings in (not pine and they are not dusty) But the annoying thing is, everytime a piggie runs out of the tray the sawdust goes flying and sticks down the side of it to the fleece... this also leaves a big gap of sawdust in the tray which wont be good if someone decides to pee there.

Anyone got any tips for this? I don't think more sawdust will work, just seems like more would go flying? The tray has sides that are a few inches high too.

and also - can someone tell me what is a good grooming brush for piggies? my girls are a smooth haired, an abyssnian (cant spell it) and i think some sort of teddy/rex she is very fluffy at the moment! The ones i have seen in the pet shop are a reaaaallly soft one and those flat sided ones? Oh and those metal combs. The soft one seems like it wouldn't go through any hair? Thanks!

I use a finacard like bedding in the whole hutch and when the girls run around it hardly moves. Do you nave anything under your shavings? It may be worth using some newspaper or a puppy pad and it may last longer if you haven't already. As well as still being absorbent if the shavings move. Finacard doesn't stick to fleece neither so it is fab, but i'm unsure how easily you could get hold of something similar if you're based in Sweden

Thanks. I am not sure how easy it would be to find that here, but the pet shop has this like pellet litter for small animals. It has rabbits and guinea pigs on the picture. I am not sure what it is made of i will have to get my boyfriend to come and look at it for me, but this would not stick to the fleece when thrown about. I might look into that.

My personal opinion is not to use shavings due to the dust. Also at least with my boar, Mr. Bailee, he tends to drag his bum and in the beginning when I had used shavings the shavings would get caught up in his little wang and butt hole which can cause them discomfort and infection if not noticed right away.
