I am just wondering how many of you use litter trays ? I have had pigs for 6 years and I have always given them litter trays filled with paper and hay. The girls use the litter tray, but also go everywhere else they feel like. McDougal, the newest arrival, does not use the litter tray, but he does toilet in 2 corners of his cage. I am wondering if the litter trays are a waste of time ? Should I remove them and utilise the space to add another bed or toy ? They have beds and toys, but I guess another one would be ok, too :))

I have two litter trays in my cage. One is under the ramp where they sit a lot but it doesn't really get used. The other is under the hay rack to stop hay getting all over the fleece. They aren't really used as litter trays at all but help to keep the cage a little cleaner. My boys poo everywhere. Nappies might be better than trays :)

My litter trays are hay trays and mostly there to keep the hay off the fleece.

For the rest, I have the towels underneath the fleece...
