I have just moved into a new house and after waiting a month for floors have had laminate put down. My girls are used to having my whole diner kitchen floor to zoom around on. My fiancé is convinced that their claws will scratch floor and that I will have to put down a picnic blanket, which will give them a smaller runabout area, which I am strongly contesting. Can anyone with experience of having laminate confirm that they are too small to cause any scrapes? Thanks in advance for any replies

Hi, I've had laminate for years and they've never marked it. I would put a few fleece down though until they get used to it, its a bit slippery for running x

I've got laminate, little piggie claws don't mark it. I've also got 2 border collies and even their claws don't mark it. I do put fleece down for floor time because it is slippery. X

Thanks very much folks:) I thought they would be to wee to do any damage but he is being a little over cautious. Great tip about the fleece though, my old house had linoleum so had more grip x

Mine have been on laminate flooring for about 13 yrs. I always use fleece to cover it. As said before if is slippery and they can't get a grip on it. Never had a problem with them marking it through. If they do wee on it wipe it up before it dries ( if you spot it). I've missed it before and it can be difficult to get rid of.
