We get the baby gem lettuce over here which I think i known as little gem lettuce in the UK? I read somewhere that gem lettuce is just a mini cos lettuce and there is some issue feeding cos lettuce regularly to guinea pigs (I know not to feed the piggies iceberg). How often can you feed the gem lettuce, Patchy and Coco loove it and it is the longest lasting lettuce to store so have been buying instead of lettuce mix as it has been spoiling quickly.

@Kylie80 There's not really an issue feeding cos/romaine unless your piggy has calcium issues.

It can increase the output of calcium deposits so I didn't feed it to my bladder stone boar very often in case it made him sore.

Otherwise it's fine for them to have it daily. One of my boys has a leaf everyday and many of my past pigs have.

Well that will be good news for the piggies then as they love the gem lettuce. I feel like I’ve seen so many opinions related to lettuce it gets a bit confusing.

I've heard the same @Kylie80. But lettuce has been a staple of my pigs diets for many many years and I've not had any problems with it. I ensure they get a variety of other veg too, and they don't get a huge portion of lettuce so they're fine.

My wee Freddie adores Romaine Lettuce leaves. At the moment, he gets it (plus a selection of other veggies/hay etc) every day. Is this too much? Should I cut back on the Romaine?
