Dear Little Hedgehog,

I am so sorry that you met with disaster this evening. When you crossed the road in front of my car I simply couldn't slow down in time, and though I tried to avoid you I felt the back wheel hit you. As I ran back to scoop your still body up I was so grateful that we had just passed a vet's practice, and prayed they might be able to save you. They kindly rushed you straight to a consultation room, but sadly had to inform me you hadn't made it. I am so devastated that I unintentionally caused your death. Snuffle free under the rainbow hedges little one. 🌈🦔

Please don’t blame yourself. It was a tragic accident and you showed kindness and compassion by taking him to the vets. Big hugs xx

Oh no. Poor you and poor little hedgehog. This was a complete accident and you had no way of avoiding him. You did a lovely thing trying to save him. Enjoy the bridge hoggy.

I'm so sorry, please do not blame yourself though. It was out of your control. :( You tried to save him.

I’m so sorry :( most people wouldn’t of even stopped to think about it, you took him to a vet and tried to save him, big hugs ❤️❤️

Thank you for your kind words. Logically I know there was nothing I could do, but it's just horrible. Poor sweet little hog.

Sending hugs, it was just bad luck, you didn’t mean to hurt little hogglet :hug:It’s horrible to think you are responsible for another animals death, I once ran over a squirrel that ran out straight in front of me, I know how you are feeling x
Sleep tight little hogglet 🌈

These things happen, wasn’t your fault at all and just an accident. I ran over a baby owl once and although I managed not to hit him I remember seeing him rolling head over feet like a little feathery tumbleweed in my rear view mirror. Poor thing was quite stunned from having the wind impact toss him about but was thankfully ok.
Sometimes we can avoid in time sometimes we can’t, I almost crashed the car avoiding that guy! Glad I as the only one on such a narrow road at the time.

please don’t feel bad, you did your best and even had the thought to backtrack to the vets.

scutter over the rainbow bridge little hoglet, I’m certain some family are waiting there.
