it's not actually my pig so don't shout at me it's my little cousins he's only 5 (i know far to young to have one went through all this with his parents) anyway he already had one guinea pig and it was lonely so they went and chose another one bear in mind he's a child he just chose the one he liked best but me being the good cousin i am went and had a look and yep you guessed it they bought a FEMALE to go with a MALE! :tickedoff: :tickedoff:
managed to persuade them to wait and get jack neutered only jamie being a kid put them in together and april is pregnant and by the looks of it about to give birth i've only ever had male piggies so any adivice on what to do?
i have put her in a seperate cage in my house and put in plenty hay anything else?
and if she has the babies what do i do? she's been pregnant 2 months is that to long or to short a time ? ?

They are pregnant for 2.5 months, so not there yet, they do everything themselves and what you have done is fine.

what do i do if they do come early? or can't that happen like i said i am totally clueless and a little hacked off that his parents allowed this to happen :tickedoff:

i have it there attitude was well she;s already pregnant leave her in with jack poor thing is so restless and keeps making what looks like a nest scraping hay altogether. seriously doubt i will be giving her back to them like and they don't seem all that bothered to be honest.

here she is here before she got pregnant

Re: little help please! U/D i lost them all

i lost them all including mum :'( :'( :'( i'm so upset mum went into labour early and one of the babies got stuck rushed her to vets where he tried to operate to remove the baby but he lost mum on the operating table
i'm flipping annoyed :tickedoff: :tickedoff: because instead of being all upset about the loss of there piggy they are already talking about getting another one :tickedoff:

Oh my goodness that is sooooo terrible poor little piggy :'( Well I think the only thing you can do is pursuade them to rehome the boy piggy with you and look for a different pet like a fish or summit, start small see how they go with that then move on to pets that need a little more attention god people like this make me so angry :tickedoff: Well done for getting the piggy to the vets at least she had you to look after her in the last part of her life :'(

Oh, thats awful! How incredibly irresponsible to be talking about getting a 'replacement' what the heck is that teaching the kids? Thats a really awkward position for you, with it being family etc. I would just have to say something, even if it meant being really 'nice' about it. Actually to be honest, if if was me I probably start off being really nice, then if the message wasn't going in end up getting cross and a bit preachy!

:tickedoff:

yeah thing is it's so frustrating as i went along to pick jack for lewis as i thought he would be staying with me and lewis would be visiting so you could say i would be like a foster mum type thing only his mother was like we'll manage and to be fair with alot of help lewis did look after jack really well always made sure he was clean and if he got stuck with something he asked me so it all worked.
then his parents asked me why i had more than one pig and i said it was because they liked company but in jacks case company wasn't a good idea until he was neutered as to boars would fight probably. his mother was like well you don't have you're pigs neutered and i tried to explain mines weren't completely bonded and didn't share one cage together.

so they asked me to go and choose another pig with them but i was working i was going to take them to a rescue but they saw April in a pet shop and bought her i obviously spotted straight away that HE was a SHE so gave them an old cage. i explained that they would NEED to get jack neuteres ASAP but they didn't listen and lewis being a typiclal 5 year old got impatient and went ahead and introduced them well you know the rest.

i'm so :tickedoff: because the only one upset is lewis and they just keep saying it's ok well just replace her and i keep trying to expalin that they can't do that until Jack is neutered and i also told them i didn't think getting anothe piggie was a good idea as lewis is to young to understand the problems that go along with bonding to males or a male and female piggie.

poor kid can't understand why she died and that it was his fault all he knows is his favourite pet isn't coming back. it's his parents i'm fuming at think i'll have to resort to being very blunt and to the point

sorry bit long but i needed to get it of my chest so to speak

Aww so sorry to hear about the loss :'( however it wasn't your fault and you did the best for them O0. some people make me sooo cross, how can they just not care! :tickedoff: :tickedoff:

Awww no! Sorry to hear that. :'( She looked like a lovely little piggy. Looks a bit like my little Dil.

So sorry :( Poor kid too, I mean the kid probably didn't know any better but why did the parents let this happen?! Eugh! RIP little one xx You did everything you could for the mummy :smitten:
