Well my grids arrived ,still waiting for the correx so thought I would make a run for Humbug to try it out and the little monkey escaped! With a lot of head scratching I watched and waited and he can squeeze through the grids , he looks bigger than he is because he looks like a big fluff ball lol
Wondered if when the base is in he won't bother as he would have to climb up , not going to risk it though there is nowhere he can go really , will have to wait until he is bigger .

I don't think they can climb as such can they? I used to have a little monkey who kept escaping.. He first did it half way through the night and I heard rustling so thought we had a rat or something lol. Sorry I have no help, hopefully someone else can help

My flake can climb, got her a rigid plastic paddling pool to play in but it had ridged sides and she used them like a ladder to climb out. Buttons though never tried and got upset when she watched flake make the the big escape.

I guess they could climb out , but as they appear timid why would they venture out away from safety , I think the base would stop him and when he is fully grown there would be know chance , going to keep him in his cage for now and let in the run when supervised!

Hopefully with the correx in, he will be fine. I keep two of my girls in c&c and they haven't nibbled it once and wouldn't dream of trying to climb out. However my other two are much more mischievous & are in a normal cage. I don't think they could climb out of c&c although they do show more climbing tendencies but I bet they would eat it!

Our 4 girls chewed their correx a lot! The slide binders on the top trick had worked a treat to stop it though.

If you have enough grids, you can overlap them to make the holes smaller but I'm guessing you'd need a lot more grids to do that!

Yes I think it will be okay when I get the correx , I also think when he is in there as his home he might have less tendency to peg it! But he is very skitty and fast and hides a lot , early days as I have only had him about two weeks, though he does lift his leg up when I tickle his tummy lol

My Nigel used to be able to climb the grids but he was very springy. Little Rose managed to squeeze through when she was a baby, we took her in at 3 weeks old and she squeezed out of the cage she was in (we were trying to bond her with our diva sow Rosie who hated every pig) and she squeezed in with Terk and Ellie instead. The bonding with Rosie didn't last long.
