little noises ?

My piggy marmite has recently started making mini squeeks, he'll just be sat in his cage doing nothing and he'll randomly do one small little squeak, it's hard to describe the noise, it's not like a wheek or any other noise, what could it be thats making him do this ?
 
Is he trying to pee or poop? I would observe him closely for a while, and see if this is causing him issues and if you think it is take him to a vet.
I have a boar who is quite squeaky at the mo but he's very hormonal and after observing his behavious I ruled out any issues with peeing and pooping, he's just permanently chuntering.
But if he's sitting still and doing it I'd be concerned he's struggling with something.:...
 
I've been looking in his cage and he's pooing and they look normal to me, it almost sounds like someones just kind of hit him in the stomach and he does it quite a bit when he's hunched over and cleaning his bits, it sounds like a grumpy noise, and I'm just worried it could be something quite serious, i may have to take him to the vets to put my mind at ease,
 
Some piggies do this when they get a little bit older and are no longer as flexible, I have noticed. Otherwise there is nothing wrong with them.

How old is yours?
 
I really don't know his age as he was rescued from P@H adoption thing, he could be any age really :/ They think he is around 2.5 ish, but i think they just guessed !
 
ahh could be that squeaky grunty noise, flinn is nearly 2 and he whinges about EVERYTHING lol. Could you film it?
 
I'll try and set my camera up tonight, it almost sounds like a really high pitch coughy grunt thing, i'll see if i can record it (:
 
i just thought i'd have a look and see if Marmites bum was a little clogged as i've been getting worried, the worlds biggest clump of sawdust with some sticky white stuff around it ... think i may have found the problem, i was on my own so there may be more in there but i have cleaned that out and I'm hoping it will help !
 
At least you've found the problem :) maybe switch to fleece? No danger of it getting stuck in their bits!
 
I have two of my piggies on fleece, and i just don't think i could keep up with the work of another cage on fleece especially now as I'm leading up to final exams and packing in revision etc. I'm wanting to change to something like megazorb, but I'm not sure if that would just have the same problems ?
 
I had Tatty since he was born,and every time he got tired he would lie down and make little noises when he was tired,he would go to sleep and then he would snore!

I always thought it was the cutest thing ever!

So glad you found out what was making him squeak! Maybe a quick check over each day will prevent this from happening again.
