We had floor time, and the girls decided that even though there were fleece pads everywhere (they like travelling from one to another), they "went" here:

I wiped up the wee and placed the wet paper towels on the largest "potty pad" I had set out for them (hey, it works with dogs). Def. cleaned the floor with cleaner. Most animals seem to prefer doing their business on soft materials, and it's only my pets, I swear, that love hard-wood and tile floor for pissing.

At least they peed in the vicinity of a pee pad?

I would strongly recommend to use some waterproof underlay for the whole run (a cheap plastic shower curtain for instance) with a cheap acrylic bed throw on top, as piggies pee anywhere. It is easy and quick to fold up and lay out again.
Temporary Housing Solutions?

If you want to attract most (but never all!) pees to a certain area, either use the piggies' chosen toilet corner or create one yourself with a shallow hay tray under some sort of cover on a towel (some piggies like to pee just outside, and they will certainly mark it). Piggies love to pee when eating hay and they like a protected peeing corner. ;)

The "sheltered potty spot" idea makes a lot of sense. The girls really prefer to go in areas with "ceilings" of their particular height. I'll try that next time. I used to put fleece blankets down, but I got tired of washing them AND the floor underneath (most of my blankets are homemade two-layer fleece throws, no absorbency). A shower-liner is a great idea, and I probably have one squirrelled away somewhere.

I've started using a cheap waterproof backed picnic blanket for floor time
