Thought I would give a little update on my lovely boars as I have not posted for a while.
We have built them a huge c and c cage with hay loft. It is divided by grids down the middle as they never made up after there fight . They love the cage and seem to love each other again as long as they are just interacting through the bars. At the top where the two haylofts meets it is just grids so they will lie next to each other and talk to each other and touch noses.
They have separate run time. I try to have them out for as long as poss in the day. If the weather is too bad for the run then they have a stretch around the living room for half and hour or so each in the evening and then we have a little cuddle and a chat before they go.
They are both more vocal than ever. which I am very pleased about, as for a little while when we first moved them to the c and c, Timone was a bit more withdrawn for a couple of days. I think it was probably due to them having had so much change! He is back to being a popcorning piggy again now though
I absolutely must get some pigtures up too!
We are thinking about whether getting them friends will be for the best in the future. They both seem genuinely happy and settled right now and I dont want to rock the boat. They are obviously separate but also spend lots of time interacting through the bars and talking to each other. I dont want them to miss living with another pig though. Although I don't think they are lonely in a sense as they still have each other.
If we do decide that new friends would be for the best does anybody know whether it would be better to get both pigs friends at the same time or one at a time. Would you wait a while longer to they have had a few more months with us or take them boar dating soon. Consider they have only been with us for 6 weeks and had 2 cage moves within that time, I dont want to stress them out.
