So I have 2 guineas (nettle , thistle)

We just cleared space for them under the stairs and I was wondering whether or not they are okay to be living full time next to the cat litter tray? It may sound weird but just in case the poop is deadly for them to breathe in all the time?

I was wondering if it'll be okay or not? Sorry if this is silly. Thank you in advance!

I know, my mum keeps saying it'll be fine but is it harmful to them at all? thank you!

Is there any way could move the litter tray? I don't think i would be very good for them to live next to it, especially with cats going past

I wouldn't, urine contains ammonia and this can cause respiratory issues unless you're scooping immediately, which wont be the case if your cats use the tray over night :)

It is enclosed, it has a gap (no door on the litter tray) but the litter tray is enclosed. I think I will probably put something in between or tell my parents about respiratory issues with them. Thank you for this advice!
