Hi all, (hope this is in the right place?)

I was just wondering if anyone had any experience of low level laser therapy (LLLT) or pulsed electromagnetic field therapy (PMFT) in Guinea Pigs?

I'm an advanced canine hydrotherapist and have both bits of kit to hand at work but no experience of using them with piggies. Anyone seen success with either treatment?

You may or may not have seen my earlier post about one of my babies having bumblefoot :soz:. I'm considering some LLLT or PMFT (or both) for her.

If we don't operate, I'm looking into buying the blue LLLT diode which has apparently been proven efficacious as bacteriacidal in tissues to use alongside antibiotics and metacam. You can't use your standard red laser on infected tissue or it can cause increased bacterial proliferation.

If we do operate I'll use the standard photizo for wound healing which has proven effectiveness in other animals.

PMFT I have no experience in guineas but have seen first hand its pain relief and tissue healing in dogs so in theory small steps should be no different?

Anyhow, anyone had any experience? :luv:

I am very sorry, but I have never come across it with guinea pigs.

I'll have to have a dig through some research papers and see what I can find!

I thought if anyone would have experience, it would be people of GPF!

Perhaps some of the other experienced members have heard of it?
