Our first two piggies (Kelly & Finkley) were bought from a pet shop round the corner from our house, way back in the 90's. They were recommended to us and for first piggies they were wonderful - the piggies were well looked after, and not bred the sake of it.
Anyways they closed down and a new pet shop opened in town - they were really good as well and we've had our other piggies from there (Minx & Tinx in the early 00's and William & Keith 3 years ago) well they were ALWAYS good until I heard something from my sisters friend.
My sisters friend popped down there the other day as she wanted a guinea pig to go with her rescue rabbit, she wasn't aware at the time that it wasn't a good idea to pair a piggy and a bunny.
The lady in the pet shop was REALLY encouraging her to buy a piggy and only because they have a surplus of them due to over breeding and a couple of piggys that have been there for a while. malletheadmallethead
My sisters friend came up to see Alan & Clive and to get some advice about it. I advised her against it and she was really shocked at the pet shop, as am I.
After discovering how many piggy's are in need of homes and how breeding has become such a problem I'm so annoyed, because they used to be so good.
